Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Inglis enables people with disabilities – and those who care for them – to achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. To provide the best possible long-term, residential care for its 297 younger adults with physical disabilities, Inglis is transforming life at Inglis House to a person centered care environment. Inglis is seeking a fulltime Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to accompany us on this journey.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements treatment programs established by the occupational therapist which is aimed at maximizing resident’s independence and quality of life.
  • Screens residents and assesses occupational therapy needs as indicated
  • Responsible for staff training as it relates to resident program, in addition to training students, rehab and restorative aides.
  • Collaborate with occupational therapist on all pertinent issues.
  • Provides education to residents and family members regarding use of adaptive equipment, preventative care, and carryover of relevant skills being addressed while on skilled services.
  • Cooperates with other interdisciplinary team members to ensure level of resident care is maintained.
  • Manages and updates records on the resident’s progress.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide quality care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited University.
  • 1-2 years experience preferred (However, new graduates are welcome to apply).
  • Licensed in PA or eligible for license.
  • Experience working with people with various physical or mental disabilities along with Assistive Technology and wheelchair mobility is a plus.
  • Possesses knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and techniques of occupational therapy and of state and federal laws governing the provision of occupational therapy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people in a multi-cultural, diverse socioeconomic setting.
  • The ideal candidate must also have excellent customer service skills, be organized with an attention to detail, be able to quickly adapt to a changing environment and have effective oral and written communication skills.     CNAs (part-time positions, every other weekend)

    Providing the best possible nursing care to younger adults with physical disabilities is the main goal of the Inglis House Nursing Department. Currently, we have part-time CNA positions available, every other weekend on the 3-11PM shift (16 hours, every other weekend). As an Inglis House CNA, you will be responsible for the activities of daily living for residents on your assigned unit to include feeding, bathroom assistance and conducting routine nursing procedures. High school diploma or GED, and current Pennsylvania CNA licensure, are required as well as at least one year experience.

    Community Leader

Inglis Foundation is seeking a fulltime community nurse leader to help in this transformation.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Inglis Community Leader

    • Evaluates resident care and directs the daily operation of his/her community including maintaining a safe and attractive facility and leading and directing the community’s activities in accordance with current Federal, State and local regulations.
    • Partners with the Director of Nursing to develop processes in support of Person Centered Care and will set goals and evaluate results to ensure objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with Inglis’ needs and mission.
    • Implements systems, processes and procedures to improve the quality and efficiency of nursing operations. 
    • Participates in quality assurance programs based on HCFA clinical indicators.
    • Creates a culture of learning, integrity, service and teamwork and supports all staff by building positive employee relations. 

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BS degree in Nursing from a recognized and accredited institution
    • Licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Pennsylvania
    • Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of successful progressive long-term care experience in a unionized environment preferred
    • Adept at using a computer and working with Electronic Medical Records (or have a strong desire to learn)
    • Strong communication and organizational skills are a must
    • Coaching leadership experience or a have a strong desire to learn and develop these skills

    RN Nurse Supervisor (3 PM-11:30 PM Monday-Friday, 7 PM-7:30 AM weekends)

    Inglis enables people with disabilities – and those who care for them – to achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. Inglis House, which provides long-term, residential care for nearly 300 adults with physical disabilities, is seeking an experienced registered nurse supervisor.

    This member of the Inglis Nursing Administration team directs and coordinates the work of a unit nursing staff to insure effective use of personnel to perform required resident care. Offers nursing care when particular expertise is needed. Applicant must be able to work the 3 PM-11:30 PM or 7 PM to 7:30 AM shift. Position offers competitive salary, part time benefits and vacation.

    Requirements:

    • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
    • Current RN license in PA
    • Minimum 3-5 years experience in hospital, long term care facility or other related healthcare facility
    • Effective organizational and people skills
    • Supervisory experience preferred

    Security Officer (per diem)

    Inglis enables peYMyKx5Rn2ople with disabilities - and those who care for them - to achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. Inglis House, which provides long-term, residential care for nearly 300 adults with physical disabilities, is seeking an experienced, per diem security officer.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Maintain safety and security of all residents, staff and property of Inglis House through visible presence throughout assigned shift
    • Respond to all emergencies (alarms, safety hazards, medical emergencies)
    • Fill in for some weekend, holiday and other shifts as needed
    • Enforce all Federal, State, and local laws and Inglis House policies
    • Complete necessary reporting and record keeping
    • Act as educator and advocate for residents, family and staff about healthy practices and treatment options.
