INGLIS AWARDED $5,000 GRANT FROM LINCOLN FINANCIAL GROUP FOUNDATION
Inglis Foundation, provider of programs and services for adults with physical disabilities, received a $5,000 grant from Lincoln Financial Group Foundation to support the Community Re-entry Program for residents of Inglis House transitioning from long-term care to independent living. Inglis House is a non-profit subsidiary of Inglis Foundation that provides specialty nursing care to 297 adults with physical disabilities.
The Inglis House Community Re-entry Program, which began in 1990, trains residents in the skills required for a safe and successful transition to independent living. The six-level program culminates in two to five day apartment trials for residents to test independent living skills prior to discharge.
Residents completing the program are trained in the equipment they need for successful independent living. Specifically, the Lincoln Financial Group Foundation Grant will support the purchase of customized shower chairs for residents to take with them upon discharge. The grant will also support the purchase of additional equipment for training purposes.
Inglis Foundation works with people with physical disabilities to create and provide practical solutions so they may pursue their life goals. Services include long-term care, accessible housing, an adult day program, care management, durable medical equipment, attendant care services and community employment.
