BETTY MARMON NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, DEVELOPMENT & EXTERNAL AFFAIRS FOR INGLIS FOUNDATION

Betty Marmon(Philadelphia, PA) – Betty Marmon joins Inglis Foundation as vice president, development & external affairs. Ms. Marmon comes to Inglis from the Philadelphia Museum of Art where she served most recently as director of philanthropic initiatives.

As Inglis’ vice president, development and external affairs, Ms. Marmon serves as Inglis primary relationship builder with donors, foundations, governmental organizations and the disability community. She will create and lead Inglis’ development strategy and generate funding to enhance the organization’s mission and accelerate its growth. She will partner with the CEO to set advocacy priorities and build relationships with key legislators and government officials and enhance Inglis’ position as a key and valuable resource locally and nationally.

Most recently, Betty served as the Director of Development at the Philadelphia Museum of Art working with staff and volunteers over the past decade to accomplish a $247 million capital campaign, raising 59 gifts of $1 million and more that led to the opening of the Ruth and Raymond G. Perelman Building. She worked closely with the late Anne d’Harnoncourt, Museum Director and CEO, on fundraising to keep the Thomas Eakins’ masterpiece, The Gross Clinic, in Philadelphia. 

Ms. Marmon’s previous experience includes serving as vice president for resource development for the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Washington DC, where she created the National Trust Council to engage business, cultural and civic leaders in fundraising.  She was also director of the New York Regional Office for the University of Pennsylvania and associate director of the campaign, vice dean for the School of Arts and Sciences at Penn, vice president for public affairs at Barnard College and director of foundation relations at Cornell University. She began her career in medical fundraising at the University of Rochester Medical Center, on staff for the opening of Strong Memorial Hospital.

A Philadelphia native, Betty earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Kirkland College (now Hamilton College, Clinton, NY) and a Master of Science degree from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. She resides in Wynnewood, PA.
