2006 INGLIS AWARDS FOR INNOVATION PRESENTED

Philadelphia, PA (May 3, 2006) – The Board of Directors of Inglis Foundation presented the winners of 2006 Inglis Awards for Innovation with their accolades on June 20, 2006 at Inglis House. The new Awards program was designed to honor the performance of non-profit organizations in the Philadelphia region that enhance the quality of life for people with physical disabilities, and by doing so support the mission of the Foundation.

Four organizations received a $20,000 award: Chester County Disability Services, Legal Clinic for the Disabled, Inc., Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation and the Health Promotion for Women with Disabilities Project of the Villanova College of Nursing.

Three additional organizations received a $6,700 Commendation award: American DanceWheels Foundation, Inc., Let's Travel, Inc. and Pegasus Riding Academy, Inc.

The award winning programs were honored June 20, 2006, at a ceremony at Inglis House, Philadelphia, PA. Janet Ries Stern, Inglis Foundation Board Director and Chairman of the Awards Review Committee, commented, “The Awards were created so programs with a real vision for improving the lives of people with physical disabilities can expand their efforts. Inglis Foundation was impressed and gratified with the number of applicants and the quality of programs represented this first year. The Review Committee looks forward to the next cycle of applications and awards, and hopes that the second and all subsequent years will generate even more enthusiasm and awareness of the great work being undertaken in support of persons with physical disabilities throughout the Delaware Valley .”

Applications for the 2007 Inglis Awards for Innovation program will be accepted beginning September 15, 2006. Information will be available on the Inglis website (www.inglis.org/Awards.htm) at that time.
