AmeriHealth Mercy Gives From The Heart with Inglis Valentine Fundraiser

Employees at the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies celebrated Valentine’s Day this year by opening their hearts to the Inglis mission and by donating generously to support it. The comprehensive program kicked off with a presentation by Inglis President and CEO Gavin Kerr who addressed Amerihealth managers at their Executive Leadership Program on Feb. 5, discussing the aligning the role of the leader with an organization’s mission. Inglis Chief Financial Officer Kevin Kelly gave the group an overview of Inglis and our guiding values.

On Valentine’s Day, AmeriHealth Mercy staffers raffled gift baskets that they had assembled, sold Dress Down Day tickets, contributed to a 50-50 cash raffle and purchased flowers, raising more than $4,600 dollars. They also used their creative talents to design personalized Valentine’s Day cards for each of our residents.

These events were spearheaded by Elizabeth Nathans, Internal Communications Associate at AmeriHealth, whose brother Peter, a 16-year resident at Inglis, passed away in 2011. “Our mission aligns well with Inglis’ mission to serve the disadvantaged, so it was just a natural fit,” says Elizabeth.  “Peter had a wonderful, well-rounded life at Inglis. Our family will always been grateful for the excellent care and quality of life he enjoyed there.”
